VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

The Roosevelt Girls and Boys Swim & Dive teams raise funds so we're able to purchase a cap (silicone this year!) and t-shirt for each swimmer for the season, recognition awards and Varsity letters for those who earned them, AND to provide the team with equipment (timing system, computer, etc), training gear, and other items they need. In the past we've relied solely on cash donations from parents to pay for these items as the District no longer provides funding to support these items. Last year we started participating in volunteer events where our group is paid by the event organizer to raise funds. Our ultimate goal is not having to ask our families for donations at all. With ultimate participation we can do it!

For the 2025-2026 Season, we have three upcoming "working fundraisers" planned. PLEASE - Mark your calendars AND be on the lookout for sign ups:

  • UW Husky Game Stadium Clean Up - Date TBD
    • Typically the day after the selected game, volunteers will meet at the stadium (parking is free) to clean up trash in the stadium. We're paid $15/hour/person by the University of Washington. Athletes, Friends, and Family are welcome to join us!
  • Seattle Lantern Festival - October 10 and/or 11, 2025 (SAVE THE DATES)
    • Volunteers participate in set up shifts (which include preparing the event site, filling event bags for ~20,000 participants); OR event shifts (which include checking-in the public participants, answering questions, and cleaning up after the event). It's a lot of fun!  Athletes, Friends, and Family over 15yrs are welcome to join us!
  • Another UW Husky Game Stadium Clean Up - Date TBD

MEET COACH BRENDA
