Try Out Information

Try Out information from Coach Kevin

"We are planning to have 1 Varsity and 1 JV team this year.  The Varsity team will be made up of 14 athletes, with the potential for up to 2 to join at the end of the season for games. We are expecting about 32 athletes to play this year. Selection will be done by coaches. The following criteria will be used to determine teams.

  • Swimming ability
  • Leg strength
  • Passing/ shooting ability
  • Water polo game IQ

Please note that prior Varsity team participation does not guarantee a position on the Varsity team. The Varsity team will be determined by the above criteria, and not by grade level. All players will be expected to adhere to the player commitment letter,  and maintain a gpa of 2.1 to play. Teams will be determined within the first 1-2 weeks of practice.

Whichever team you play on, we will have practices together and often scrimmage. JV will have a truncated game after almost all varsity games, and games most Saturdays. JV will also have a tournament in late October. Please contact me (925-872-1613) if you have any questions about team selection or try outs."

Roosevelt Booster Gear Ordering

Roosevelt Boosters Gear

Roosevelt Boosters is the non-profit, parent run organization that supports sports at Roosevelt. In the past, we have received grants from the Boosters to fund equipment for our program. The boosters fundraising is separate from our team and funds grants and 50% of the Athletic trainer salary. The first fundraiser they offer is selling Roosevelt Athletic Gear. Please order your gear by September 11th, and it will arrive 2 weeks later. Parents often want to show up at games sporting Roosevelt gear :)  Boys Water Polo team store
