Roosevelt Wrestlers Fare Well @ Sub-Regionals!

CONGRATULATIONS to our Men's and Women's Wrestling Team who placed 9th and 6th in their respective Sub-Regional Tournaments February 3-4, 2023! 

The men competed at Chief Sealth High School against 16 schools with some brackets having upwards of 20 participants. Two days of solid wrestling and our athletes advanced in good standing for the regional tournament at Kelso HS. Overall, the Roosevelt Men placed 9th out of 15 teams.

  • Ian Crowner – 3rd Place

The women had a strong showing against the Puget Sound at Mt. Tahoma HS as one of the top Seattle Metro schools placing 6th overall against 19 teams. Our entire women’s team will advance onwards to the regional tournament Saturday, February 12 at Todd Beamer High School. Everyone fought through consolation to place on the podium.

Get a Free Sports Physical Starting Sept. 5th

Can't get a hold of your doctor and you need a sports physical? The Teen Health Center (room 225) offers sports physicals to all SPS students free of charge!

You can also contact the RHS Teen Health Center by emailing Suna.oh@neighborcare.org or text 206-653-9786 to schedule. 

Appointments start on Sept. 5th, 2023. 

Congrats to Roosevelt Girls Lacrosse 2023 WA State Runner Up!

Last Friday night, the Roosevelt Girls Lacrosse team capped off an historic season by taking on Seattle Academy in the State Championship game. It was the first time the program has advanced to the Championship since 2006. Seattle Academy ultimately took home the title with a 17-8 win. 

All-Conference Honors
Congratulations to the six team members who earned All-Conference (Metro) honors for this season.

Midfield - Juliet Kilborn (Sr, RHS), Izzy Watts (Jr, RHS), Avery Williams (Jr, RHS)
Defense - Beatrice Bagley (Sr, Shorecrest), Lucy Pew (Jr, RHS)

Team Washington Selection 
Three Roosevelt players—Carly KatzmanIzzy Watts, and Avery Williams—were selected for the U19 team representing Washington (Team WA) at the upcoming USA Lacrosse National Tournament in Raleigh, NC (May 27-28).
