Roosevelt Boys Water Polo is a High School Club team that plays in the Puget Sound Water Polo League. The Club is run by parent volunteers to provide students with competitive and recreational opportunities to play water polo. The Riders consistently rank among the best in Washington. Former players have gone on to play collegiate polo at Division 1 programs.
The water polo season starts in September and runs through November. Experienced and novice athletes alike are encouraged to join the program. Eligibility to join the Roosevelt Water Polo team will follow Puget Sound Water Polo League Rules which reference the WIAA handbook. See Eligibility criteria.
For more information on joining our team contact the parent boosters at rooseveltwaterpolo@gmail.com.
Each of the Fall teams now have their own storefront open for a limited time: The order deadline is 9/15/2022. Click HERE to access the WATER POLO STORE!
Fan gear is offered for families and fans as a fundraiser for the Roosevelt Athletic Boosters Club (RAB) General Fund. The General Fund gives grants to teams who need help paying for uniforms, equipment, training, field rental, coaches, and more.
The General Fund also helps pays for Roosevelt’s on-site Athletic Trainer and her supplies. Last year alone, the RAB contributed almost $11,000 toward the Athletic Trainer program and gave out nearly $17,000 in team grants including helping Boy's Water Polo offset pool rental costs!
Please consider making a purchase and supporting your athletes today! Please note: items are final sale and gear will be sent 10-14 days after the store closes. The RAB will organize distribution.
Eligibility to participate in RBWPC will follow WIAA regulations for participation according to the Puget Sound Water Polo league. Only Roosevelt High School students, and students of the Roosevelt school boundary may play Varsity Water Polo. The club has a long history of allowing players from other Seattle High Schools to participate, and will continue to do so with league permission for our Junior Varsity team. Registration for non-Roosevelt students will only be permitted if the team roster does not reach capacity by the second week of the school year. Tryouts typically occur the first week of September.

Coach Kevin Schirmer joined Roosevelt for the 2021 Fall season. Kevin grew up in East Bay area of Northern California. He played for the 680 Water Polo Club and San Ramon Valley High School. He was recruited to the University of the Pacific for the swim team, and was later approached by the water polo coach and offered the opportunity to try out. From that point, Kevin became a two-sport collegiate athlete. Kevin majored in engineering, and is still an active member of the Seattle Water Polo community. Kevin is the Director and Head Coach of Rain City Water Polo and looks forward to working with our Roosevelt Athletes.
