WELCOME TO RHS GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY!

Cross Country is a Fall sport with official practices begin in late August. Our first meet is typically the first or second week of school. In 2021 the Metro Championship was October 21, the Sea-King District Championship (Lake Sammamish State Park) October 30, and the Washington State Championship Meet (Sun Willows Golf Course, Pasco) was November 6.

Official Practices are five days per week, 4:30 to 6:30 PM and begin at Roosevelt.  Metro meets in 2021 were on Wednesdays or Thursdays at Magnuson Park, with some Saturday invitational meets at various locations.   Meets may return to Lower Woodland Park in 2022.

How do I sign up?

Complete (have your parent/guardian complete) all the “Final Forms” paperwork prior to the season and make sure that you have a valid physical on file.   In order to be on the team, run at official practices and compete, you must have all of your athletic paperwork completed.  You can search on the Seattle Public Schools website for athletic registration information and links to the Final Forms website.  The current link:  https://roosevelths.seattleschools.org/student-life/athletics/athletic-registration/
FOR MORE INFORMATION about Girls Cross Country, please contact our RAB Booster Representative, Missy Kroll, or Head Coaches, Morgan Manuel or Sara Fleming or check out our Instagram site.

Off Season Practices:

Unofficial (i.e., Captain led) workouts/practices typically begin in July, and are held early at a park near RHS most weekday (and some Saturday) mornings.   They are optional, fun and a great way to get in shape for the season as well as meet some of your teammates prior to the start of the school year.  Summer practices are encouraged to allow your body to ease into mileage and avoid injury (by running too much, too soon).   No experience is required!  We have several pace groups and runners at all levels, so nobody runs alone.  Come join us — all faces and paces welcome!   For up to date details on summer workouts, follow us on Instagram by searching for “rooseveltwomensxc”  or: https://instagram.com/rooseveltwomensxc?utm_medium=copy_link
