TRYOUT FOR THE 2022-2023 RHS DANCE TEAM!

Roosevelt High School’s award-winning hip-hop dance team (first place in Districts, fourth in State!) is holding tryouts for the upcoming 2022-23 school year.

Tryouts will be held immediately after school May 17 to May 19. Interested dancers are encouraged to attend a dance clinic on May 10 after school to learn dance fundamentals (the team will be expanding into jazz/contemporary in addition to hip-hop), refresh skills, and work on picking up choreography before tryouts.

2021-2022 Roosevelt Dance Team

RHS Dance Team has a Hip Hop focus and our goal is always to be one of the top dance teams in the Seattle Metro League and State of Washington. The Dance Team competes in the 3A Hip Hop division of WIAA Dance & Drill Activities. We also perform at all RHS assemblies with the goal of entertaining the student body and showcasing our best hip hop dances. Assembly dances are choreographed by dancers on the team and relate to the theme of the assembly.

Tryouts are held every Spring, usually in late April or early May for 3 days. All are welcome to try-out! Our competition season is November - March, but this year round sport starts in early August and runs through June. Practices are held at RHS mostly after school, are generally 3-4 times per week with more practices during competition season and less during practice season.

Keep an eye on our website and social media (IG: @roosevelt_danceteam) for try-out forms and clinic dates. There is no previous sign-up necessary— just show up on the first day of tryouts with your forms prepared!
